Elena Suchkova

Flutes

Elena began her studies at the age of six at Musical College and at State Conservaotry of Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in Krasnodar, her hometown in Russia. Later, she entered Sobinov Conservatory in Saratov, under E. Balashov, continuing her studies at Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory under Professor O. Chernyadieva. She has participated in masterclasses with flutists such as Doljikov, Korneev, Zverev, Nicole, Jac Zoon, Ancelotti and Miji Kim and the renowned conductor Spivakov.

 

In 2004, Elena won first place in the Transverse Flute category on the International Competition in Kiev, Ukraine. She has been a member of Russia International Youth Orchestra, performing tours in Europe with great singers such as Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo.

 

Back at St. Petersburg Conservatory in 2007, she obtained her degrees of Orchestra Artist and Master in Music. In that same year, she became a member of Santiago Municipal Theatre Orchestra, Chile, as the principal piccolist and flutist, performing symphonic programs, operas and ballets. Elena has played with several orchestras, such as the ones from Andrés Bello University and Universidad Mayor, and has also presented chamber music recitals and performed as a soloist in Chile, Argentina and Russia.
