Marcus Julius Lander

Marcus Julius began his studies in 1996 with Edmilson Nery at São Paulo Municipal School of Music (Emesp). He has a Bachelor’s in Clarinet from the State University of São Paulo (Unesp), under Professor Sergio Burgani. He has also been a student of Luis Afonso “Montanha” in an open course at the School of Communications and Arts in São Paulo University (USP). As a scholarship holder at Boston Conservatory, part of his Master’s degree studies were carried under Jonathan Cohler. In Brazil, He has won Prêmio I Solisti in the Classical Instrumental Music category.

 

Marcus has served as a concertmaster of the Banda Sinfônica Jovem do Estado de São Paulo and as Principal of the Orquestra Jovem de Guarulhos, Orquestra do Instituto Baccarelli and Sinfônica Jovem do Estado de São Paulo. He’s also been a member of the Orquestra Acadêmica da Cidade de São Paulo and Quarteto Paulista de Clarinetas and worked as a graduation course professor at Conservatório Dramático e Musical de São Paulo.

 

In China, the musician represented Brazil as a resident artist in the 8th International Festival of Clarinet and Saxophone in 2010 in the city of Nan Ning; in the Beijing International Clarinet Festival in 2014; and he has lectured at the conservatories of Shenyang and Tai-Yuan. Marcus is a Gao Royal and D’addario Woodwinds Artist.
