Robson Fonseca

Mineiro from São João del-Rei, Robson began his studies at the age of eight under Abel Morais, at the Padre José Maria Xavier Conservatory, where later he became a cello teacher himself. He has also attended courses given by renowned musicians such as Antonio Meneses, Alceu Reis and Julian Trytynsky.

 

As a recitalist and chamber musician, Robson has performed in major concert halls throughout the country. In 2010, he studied with Matias de Oliveira Pinto in Germany, where he also obtained his certificate at the University of Münster in 2011. Two years earlier, he graduated from the University of São Paulo (USP), the institution from which he received the I Olivier Toni Award. From 2003 to 2009, he was head of the cellos of Ribeirão Preto Symphony and professor at the Music School of Sertãozinho.

 

Robson was a fellow of the Campos do Jordão Festival and participated in several other festivals, such as the Curitiba and Juiz de Fora ones. With the Mercosur Youth Orchestra, he traveled on tour in Latin America playing at Sala São Paulo, Teatro Cólon in Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Currently, he is a member of Quarteto Mineiro de Cordas, winner of the Chamber Music Contest of the Minas Gerais Federal University (UFMG).
